We received the love spoons today
and I finished the favour bags (except for the biscuits and almonds, obviously)
I completed our wedding/reception table ^^
I have our pins ready

(I need to make it a rosette, though)
This is our cake topper
Aaaaaaaaaaaand this is the love spoon Tucker picked out to give to me on our wedding day
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
I got the base material for the handfasting cord; the colours ended up being precisely what I wanted them to be. I was nervous for a bit because I had to buy them online (we don’t have a car, public transportation here is pretty nonexistent, and I have no idea where I’d find nylon cord anyway) and was afraid that the colours would be either too dark or too light compared to what they looked like on the computer screen. But the colours (navy blue and kelly green) ended up being precisely what I wanted them to be and they look lovely.
I got some of the beads that are supposed to go on the cord as well; the Celtic knot spacers and the frog. (I got beads of all the things that are good luck to see on your way to your wedding in Scotland during your procession - rainbows, suns, horses, sheep, spiders, frogs, black cats, and any kind of Celtic knot). The others are still in transport. I also got the Celtic heart knot key charms - they came in a set of 50 - and I’m using them for favours. I decided that I wanted them to be tied to the outside of the favour bag, so I took some of the cord and braided it, putting the key charm in the middle, and then continued braiding it. I trimmed the ends of the cord. And to make sure it didn’t fray later, I used a trick that Rini taught me, and dipped each end in candle wax. It was nice being able to do something that had to do with the wedding. It made me feel like it was more real.
I’m still waiting for the other beads to arrive before I can start making the handfasting cord. According to etsy, most of them should be here before the 20th. I have to wait on the spider bead, however; apparently the one she had was damaged in storage and she asked if I could be patient or if I wanted my money back. I told her I could wait, as the wedding’s not until the end of August. But now I know when I have all the beads except one, I’m going to be itching to make my handfasting cord. I did ask her when she thought they’d be in, so that way I’d know how long I had to wait.
Hopefully, between all this, we can do some other stuff concerning the wedding; I hope my cake pans come in soon. I want to start making some test cakes to see how they’d turn out. We know we want a lemon cake with strawberry filling, but I’m still stuck on whether it should be frosting or real strawberries or a mix of both. (And to get used to my pans, I promised Bernadette I’d make her a red velvet cake with a buttercream filling. She was practically drooling over that idea). And if the other items for the favours begin to show up, I can get them all organised into where they need to go in terms of groups (I believe I have 10 favour bags I need to make, which isn’t a lot, considering weddings are usually upwards of 200 people). I still need to figure out the music for the wedding. We decided that we’d make a mix CD of what we’d play for the wedding so we’d have it out here too. Tucker’s going to design the ‘invitations’ for the wedding, so that way, we’ll have something of that as well. Rini’s going to make up our marriage certificate, so that’ll be nice to have as well.
Otherwise, I’m marathoning Say Yes to the Dress and making Tucker sit through it with me. It’s on Netflix, so *cackles* I’ll probably be watching it all day.
I’m getting anxious about it because I still haven’t done a lot for the wedding, and I just want to get it all done in one go, and then I freak myself out and then just stare into the abyss instead >.<;
So, that was my day so far ^^
Oh, and because the Celtic key charms came in a set of 50 and I didn’t need that many, I (once again, something Rini taught me) made earrings out of some of the remaining ones. I made a pair for the girls in the Legion to share, one pair for Rachel (which I think she wore to work :3) and one for Bridget. I might make the remaining ones into earrings too; we’ll see. I might use them for something else. We’ll see.
